Just came up with this cool open source virtual globe developed by Nasa written in java.It is used to create interactive visualizations of 3D globe, map and geographical information.
It is not same as 3D globe like google earth because its not a complicated application. Instead it is a SDK(Software Development Kit) that software engineers use to develop applications.
Its been used widely, few to name like Maritime data collection, observation monitering and exploration.
